Hola Everyone

Well this week we have changes but there aren't any changes with me. I'm staying here in Curico for a 4th change, 3rd with Elder Ramirez. I can't lie I'm kinda baffled that I'm staying with my "kid" for more than the 2 changes that it normally is. But the Lord is in charge and knows what is going on, so I guess I just have to accept it and trust in Him. We had two really good lessons with Mario but he didn't come to church yesterday. He was still sleeping when we went to pick him up. So that was disappointing. But we have been finding quite a few potential investigators lately so we'll see how this next week goes for us. I can't believe how fast March has passed by. Pretty soon we will be in April and it will really start to cool down here. I'm not gonna lie, I'm really looking forward to the cooler weather. I'm just sick of getting burned. We found a really awesome inactive family last night. They have a ton of desires to come back to the church. It will be kinda tough because the husband works way up north and is only here 8 days out of every 22; but it will all work out. I want to invite all of you to start preparing for General Conference. I absolutely love it and want you all to enjoy it as much as I do. I love and miss you all! Have an awesome week!

With love,

Elder Jayson Welker

Hola Everyone

Well this week went pretty fast for us. We found a guy named Mario last Monday night. He seems pretty excited about what we are sharing. We are meeting with him again tonight. Besides Mario, we didn't find anyone else. It's tough finding people to teach here because everyone works until about 6:30-7:00 pm, and then after that all they want to do is eat, shower and sleep. So basically all the people that we are teaching (less-actives and investigators) tell us to come at the same time, 7:00, and not much later than that. So it's pretty tough trying to find the balance for the people. We are starting to have some progress with some of the less-actives that we are teaching. They should be having some interviews within the next few weeks so they can receive a calling. There was an investigator that Elder Loar and Favila had that got married on Wednesday and then got baptized and confirmed this weekend. Even though she wasn't "my investigator" it was awesome to see all of her progress and see her take that step of faith to get baptized. We have changes this next week so we'll see what happens. Not much else to say for this week. Hopefully a little bit more happens this next week. Love and miss you all! Have a great week!

With love,

Elder Jayson Welker

Hola Everyone

Well this week once again was pretty rough. We haven't found new investigators in over 2 weeks, but it isn't anything new for me here in the mission. We are working hard but sometimes the things that we want most, aren't the things that the Lord has in store for us. Sometimes he wants us to suffer a little bit or wants us to learn something. I've always told myself that when I've had struggles and usually it has proven to be true. We have basically "killed" all of our investigators. They just haven't progressed and haven't really shown much effort in trying to read or pray. It hurts because we want to help them but sometimes you just have to do it and hope that later on down the road they will do it. So Elder Ramirez and I are basically starting from scratch so we're just going to continue to work hard and hope that the Lord will bless us. 15 months has passed by so fast and I know it only gets faster. I hope to bless, serve, and love everyone that I can in the 9 months that I have left. I love and miss you all and hope that your week is fantastic!

With love,

Elder Jayson Welker

Hola Everyone

Well this week was average time wise. But it was pretty slow for working. We really, really struggled finding people. It was the last week of "vacation" for most everyone so people were just out of town all week. It has really kind of baffeled me how things are down here compared to back home. I'm afraid that it will take me a long time to adjust back to things in the states. Well like I said this week was pretty slow. We were out in the street with the scorching sun burning us about 85% of the time we have to proselyte. It wasn't fun, but we did teach some lessons here and there. Our family has kinda stopped progressing and we haven't been able to meet with any of our other investigators in almost 2 weeks. The mom from the family, lost her bookmark for that we put in the Book of Mormon for her to read; so she just started reading from the very, very beginning. She has enjoyed it so far. She's in the first few chapters of Nephi. So for right now she is my little ray of hope. Oh yesterday 2 inactives came to church which made me pretty happy. I've been visiting them for 3 changes and they finally came back to church. They seemed to really enjoy it so hopefully they can keep coming. We also started teaching English and we had a really good turnout. There were like 10 people that came which is double of what I've had in my other sectors combined. Hopefully that will start to help us find more people to teach. Well that is about it for this week. Love and miss you all. Have an awesome week!
